Notes from a week in the print shop
What we learned from watching our own files meet the machines.
Selected projects
We are a studio of six designers and writers working on identities, packaging and websites for independent businesses.
A small look at what leaves our hands.
Independent studio
We started as two friends sharing a desk above a print shop, and we still believe the best design is made close to the material. Today the studio has six people, a long table and a shelf of paper samples nobody is allowed to throw out.
We work with galleries, food producers, small software companies and a surprising number of dentists. What they share is a founder who cares about details and a willingness to try one idea that scares them a little.
What we learned from watching our own files meet the machines.
The five questions that save two weeks of back and forth.
A short defence of the pencil, and what happens to ideas that skip the sketchbook stage.
